Fractal Sudoku Solid (Portable Version): Gallery
This is the second-order approximation of a Hexagonal Bipyramid Fractal composed of 81 hexagonal bipyramids. It is a portable version of the Fractal Sudoku Solid, originally created for portability and use in classes. It was built by Yasuyuki Tsukamoto (then a graduate student), and I regularly take it to junior high school lessons. For a more detailed explanation of this object, please see the Fractal Sudoku Solid page.
This object appears square from twelve different directions. In each of those directions, the coloring corresponds to a solution of a Sudoku puzzle.
From other directions, it reveals a variety of interesting shapes. You can even enjoy its shadows as a form of play.
