Imaginary Cube Sculpture #1: Gallery
These four photos show the same object taken from different angles. This object is composed of the 16 minimal convex Imaginary Cubes introduced on the previous page. As you can see from the photos, the object itself is also an Imaginary Cube. The 16 components are arranged in a structure similar to the second iteration of a Sierpinski tetrahedron, with adjacent pieces touching at their vertices. Although the components are made of paper, threads were passed through the vertices and glued to the back sides of the pieces during assembly. The six directions that appear square are each painted in different colors, with the surfaces facing the interior of the cube painted black. These black surfaces form a T-shape.
